My best friend’s Crosstrek got hit. This is the car that helped me see how cool modern Subaru is, even if I miss the old turbo-manual-hoodscoop days. There’s something to be said for a relatively simple car with stellar visibility, that can take you anywhere in comfort without any kind of f uss.
Hopefully it’s not totalled. Seems... Borderline, depending on suspension stuff. This thing has brought us to all of the cool hike spots throughout the season.

Well the rear bumper alone will be like $1,100 (my friends Impreza hatch was hit a few years ago), plus both doors, rear fender, sporty skirt, rear wheel, tail light, very possibly the hatch itself...
Don't look good

Insurance will use used parts to keep prices down, there is lots of c ro sstreks to pull from.

It doesn’t look that bad. You might just need shocks in the back, but as long as the doors still open and close there’s no problem.
I hope he’s OK and nobody was hurt

Drive it as- is, really gives that rough-and-tumble image that most PNW Subie drivers pine for.

That’s probably (definitely) what I’d do after taking a check. Find some junkyard parts eventually. But my friend will be crushed if it gets totalled.

Depends on insurance. Mine insists on new parts.

This was my wrecked WRX back in ‘16:
It took three months and well over $10k to repair. Your friend’s may cost less since the airbags didn’t deploy.

Two doors, a quarter-panel, and a rear bumper -- assuming no airbag deployments. If their value in your market matches Colorado, they will repair it.

It does seem like a huge waste as chances are it is mechanically an d structurally fine. Maybe try to get it back from auction if it is totaled, still come out ahead.

Girl tried to turn right from the left lane and turned into me. Uninsured too.

out of all the dumb shit I see people do on the road, I never see this (trying to make a turn across multiple lanes of traffic). Its amazing thinking that common sense, let alone even the smallest amount of driving ‘skill’, wouldn’t tell people that that kind of maneuver is incredibly dangerous

Oh man, I see it at least once or twice a month . Some people would rather risk their life than be inconvenienced.
